We would love to invite you to our 2023 middle school band night on Friday, October 8th, 2023 at Dr. Phillips High School! Whether you are zoned for Dr. Phillips or are thinking about attending Dr. Phillips via our award winning Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program, we would love to have you come experience life as a panther band member! It will be a lot of fun and you will make so many new friends!
Please plan to arrive at Dr. Phillips High School no later than 5:15 PM. Upon arrival, you will enter the campus via the double doors next to the loading dock behind the Performing Arts Center. Your director will have a map before the event. From there, you will meet us in the following rooms:
Windy Ridge & Westridge: Ensemble Room (Room 1-120) SWMS, Chain of Lakes and all other schools: Chorus Room, (Room 1-124) ALL Percussionists: Percussion Room (Room 1-116)
After halftime, our high school band students have most of third quarter for a break where they eat at the concession stand. Middle school students are welcome to either leave after halftime or stay after to eat and continue playing. Typical varsity games end around 10:00, but of course this can change. Please ask your director whether you are leaving or can stay after halftime. If you are going home after halftime, you can proceed back to your respective room to pack up your instrument, gather belongings and be picked up from the loading dock area outside the band room.
While middle school band students get in free, parents will have to pay $7 for admission. Tickets can be purchased at the registration link below. DPHS allows for 1 free chaperone per every 10 kids from each school. If you are interested in chaperoning, please reach out to your band director.
In order for your child to participate, it is important the following registration link is filled out. The link below also has the link to our middle school night remind (important for any emergencies or cancellations)
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our band family! Musically yours, Mr. Malhiot, Ms. Lightbody, and Mr. Watford Band Directors Dr. Phillips High School www.Drphillipsband.com
